Getting Your Newly Adopted Wild Horse or Burro Home
For safety reasons, the BLM requires use of a stock trailer to haul wild horses. A three-horse slantload trailer may be used if the dividers are removed. There must be no gaps between door and trailer roof, or other air spaces that are big enough for a horse to try to jump through. If you don't have a suitable trailer, you should have no trouble finding a hauler, if you adopt at a weekend Adoption Event. This is a great service which we all appreciate, but it is important for the adopter to understand that these are private contractors, and not under hire or responsibility of the BLM. |

"I want to recommend this guy who hauled our horses from Palomino Valley.
Maybe you can help spread the word. He was excellent. He charges $1.00 a
mile and his trailer is video and audio monitored. He is great. He didn't
even complain about our road. So please pass the word on." - Rebecca Sanderson Venegas, Napa, CA |

Ginny Freeman recommends this transporter/hauler for California and other states. He recently hauled Spotty and all went very well. Dave will haul horses and burros (donkeys) of any size and breed and llamas too. He is also very reasonably priced.
